What to expect during training:

We begin each internship with our Summer Missionary Training Program. This program prepares you to share Bible lessons with practical application for children, counseling for salvation, using games for memory verse learning, song leading, and using multimedia presentations. The training school staff will be compromised of experienced, qualified teachers who desire to help you become an effective teacher of God's Word to children.  A combination of classroom instruction, practice teaching, and applying what you have learned over the summer missions program, makes this training highly effective. 

What will I do as a summer intern?

After the week of training, we begin applying what we have learned during our Vacation Bible Schools over an 8-week period. We begin each VBS with songs, a puppet show, and a Bible lesson. We rotate children by grade through crafts, games, and memory verse learning. Our interns lead the songs, perform the puppet show, teach the bible lesson, counsel children during the invitation, and teach crafts, games, and memory verse. Whatever your spiritual gifts are, there is a place for everyone. 

We will also be traveling to Mexico one week during the summer. During our Mexico trip, our primary focus is to support our full-time team there while they share the gospel with hundreds of children that week. In Mexico, we will go to several missions a day to help at Bible clubs that will be similar to a VBS. You will get the opportunity to experience their culture and connect with the people there. 

Whether you are able to commit to the whole summer, or just a week or two, we would be glad to have you on our team! We could not continue this ministry without people like you who are willing to serve. 


How will I pay for my summer expenses? 

We will assist you in raising support for you summer by sending deputation letters to anyone you know who might be interested in offering support for your ministry. We usually recommend sending 30 or more letters out, as well as gaining the support of your home church. This simply gives them the opportunity to be a part of your summer ministry through prayer and giving. There is no fee to be a summer intern. We provide meals and a place for you to stay during the summer missions program. Only personal expenses will need to be covered by the intern. 

What are the requirements to apply?

1.  You must be a committed Christian.

2.  You must be at least 16 years of age.

3. You must have a burden for spiritually lost boys and girls.

4.  You must have a teachable spirit.

5.  You must be in agreement with GMTC Global's Declaration of Faith.
