EVANGELISM THROUGH FACE PAINTING
Our face painting ministry began in 2002, when we were given the
opportunity to have a booth at the Panhandle-South Plains Fair in Lubbock,
Texas. Having interviewed
several ministries that had successfully conducted face painting events, we
opened our booth with a desire to reach out to boys and girls and a few
volunteers. Over the next 9
days, more than 1850 children passed through our booth having their faces
painted and hearing the gospel message.
Several of these children received Christ as their Savior.
The success of this outreach was so great we knew God was leading us
to use this tool much more.
Since that time, we estimate that 60,000 children have been to our booths at
hundreds of different events and many children have come to faith in Christ.

Each child that has his/her face painted is told the gospel message
by the face painter, using the colors on the painter’s palate.
The yellow color reminds us of the gold streets in Heaven.
The black color reminds us of our sin.
The red color reminds us of the blood of Jesus, who died for us and
rose again. The white color
reminds us of a clean heart. If
we trust in Jesus to forgive our sin, he will make our heart clean.
The green color reminds us that if we have already trusted in Jesus
to forgive our sins, He wants us to grow in Him, by reading our Bible,
praying and going to church.
The blue color reminds us that one day Jesus will come in the clouds to take
all that have believed on Him to Heaven.
If the child wants to trust in Jesus as Savior, he/she is led to
Christ right there at the painting booth.
Each child that is painted also receives a packet with a gospel
tract, a Storyline card and 2 pieces of candy.
The name and number of a Bible believing church, with a children’s
ministry is also given out in the packet.
A face painting training manual entitled, “Evangelism through Face
Painting” is available through the GMTC office.
Volunteers are always needed, too.
