Christmas Gift Project

Thousands of Gifts Are Distributed in Mexico and Pakistan
Each
December we share God’s love with needy children
in the border region of Mexico and in Pakistan by providing Christmas gifts
to needy children, who would probably not otherwise receive a gift. Each
Year, we are able to
distribute the gifts through our Christmas “Happy Birthday Jesus”
Bible Clubs held in many locations. The gospel is clearly presented at
these events and many children trust Christ as Savior as a result. We
work in the City
of Juarez, Chihuahua (Juarez boasts a metro area population of nearly 2
million people), as well as several other small towns. Juarez has the
reputation of being the most violent city in the world, with about 3000
murders in 2010 alone! We also work in and around Lahore, Pakistan.
(Lahore boasts a metro population of nearly 7 million people.)Due to the
distance and shipping costs, it is easier and more cost effective to send
money to our missionary in Pakistan and have him purchase and assemble the
gifts there.
The children are invited to a
Christmas Bible Club and are not told about any gift that they will receive.
During the Bible Club, a Gospel
presentation is made revolving around the Christmas story from Luke 2.
A gentle invitation is given
and children are given a chance to trust Jesus as their Savior.
At the end of the Bible Club,
the children are surprised with the Christmas gift.
It is always exciting to see
the look on their faces as they receive them and open them up!
Most of the children that
attend are very poor.
For many, this may be the only
gift they receive.
We are already preparing for
this Christmas. It is our goal to greatly expand the outreach in Mexico and
Pakistan in 2011.
The gifts can be dropped off
or shipped to the GMTC Outreach Center, 1410 N. Garfield, San Angelo, TX
76902.
There is also a pickup point in
Lubbock, Texas and in the Bloomington/Normal, Illinois area.
(Email us for details
jeff@gospelministriestochildren.net
) or call the GMTC office at
(325) 947-7405. Donations are also needed to offset shipping costs and
to purchase in country or ship gifts to Pakistan.
